Little Paigey - Big Eyes {Melbourne Child Photographer}

From the day she was born, Paigey has had these most adorable eyes which unfortunately she did not inherit from me. They are big, georgous pools of blue that reflect everything around her. I remember when she was a baby always being stopped by people passing so that they could look more closely at them and comment. Elderly ladies would always say "My what big eyes she has!". I had to bite my tongue on many occasions so as not to reply with "All the better to SEE you with...mwaahahahaha".
So once again I was digging around old folders on my PC and came across this image of Paigey. I could say she was deep in though contemplating life - but really, she was just watching the good 'ol Wiggles.

Colour, colour, colour!! {Melbourne Child, Family and Baby Photographer}

Did I mention how much I love colour!! Colour makes me happy - it makes me think of fun and happy times!! You wouldn't think it though if you have been to my house. We built our home new and we still have not yet gotten around to painting any of our walls. So for now it's pretty boring! Oh, except for the kid's rooms, they have at least got a feature wall painted! So for now I must get my colour fix through my photography. Here's a few more of my faves!

A few of my faves! {Melbourne Children's Photographer}

This special guy won his portrait session through a raffle prize I had donated to the Western District Austistic School. He was the third student from the school that I had photographed. When I walked into his home to meet him for the first time, I was blown away by
how confident he was and also by his beautiful, caring eyes. I really enjoyed the session and this is one of my favourites from the day.

Q&A Part I

Alrighty, thank you all for your patience...I have slowly started answering all of your questions so I will add them in parts as I get to them.

What are you currently shooting with?
Canon 40D and 50mm 1.4 lens

How long have you been shooting for?

I have been shooting professionally for just on 12 months – but forever as a hobby J

What was it exactly, that made you realise you just loved photography?
When I had my daughter Paige I wanted to capture every single precious moment…it developed from there into an absolute passion and the business side came as an extension of this.

What is your fave ever, lens?
Hmmm depends on what I am shooting. For still portraits I love the 50mm 1.4 – having said that I shot all of my portfolio with the 50mm 1.8. I also enjoy shooting with the 85mm.

There are a lot of lenses on my ‘must have’ list.

Now and Then - {Melbourne Child, Baby and Family Photographer}

I think it's important to acknowledge that we all have to start somewhere when taking up a hobby. Here is a now and then so you can see where I started in regards to my processing. I am sure that even the original, originals from this session were really, really bad :p

Then - May 2008

Now - August 2009
It shows that persistence, ongoing learning and the drive to continually improve will pay off eventually.

Take care,

Year 12 Promotion!! {Melbourne Senior, Teen Photographer}

My *other* new baby - {Melbourne family, child and baby photographer}

Since becoming a professional photographer my family 'snapshots' have gone by the wayside somewhat. When Paige was born I had my old, trusty point and shoot out all of the time and I took photos of EVERYTHING.
Now that Koby is here I have made a promise to myself to step out of the 'professional' box for a while and just get back to taking candid, everyday snapshots of my children so I decided to sell my trusty old 400d and replace it with this little baby! Now I have no excuse to not have a camera out everyday, everywhere capturing EVERYTHING again.
Isn't it cute....and shiny!?
Take Care,
Chrissy
